Sunset Lodge offers a year-round paradise for vacationers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. This full-service fishing resort on Oak Island, MN offers 1- 3 bedroom cabins and condos with panoramic views of Sunset Bay and a brand new lodge features a bar & restaurant. The Lodge’s convenient Lund fishing boat or fish house rentals and guides add to the enjoyment of the area’s fantastic open water and ice fishing.
In the summer months, Sunset Lodge is accessible via your own boat from either Young’s Bay at the Northwest Angle, or from the south shore of the Lake of the Woods. (We can arrange a launch service from both locations.)
We have a great population of Minnesota walleye, sauger, muskie, perch, crappie and smallmouth bass. Our location on Oak Island is right in the center of great fishing. No need for long boat rides to get to great fishing spots. Come visit us for a great Lake of the Woods fishing experience in our beautiful, uncrowded setting.
Boats, gas, and bait are available at the lodge. The new fish cleaning/bait house is fully air conditioned. We can clean your fish for you, or you are welcome to use the new facility. Guides are also available, or we are happy to mark up a map with some suggestions.
In the winter months, Sunset Lodge is accessible by car on plowed roads from either Young’s Bay at the Northwest Angle directly to our front door. You can also come by snowmobile from either Young’s Bay or the south shore of the Lake of the Woods. (We can arrange a shuttle service from the south shore.)
The ice fishing take around Oak Island consists of walleye, saugers, northern pike, eel pout, jumbo perch, tullibee, whitefish AND crappies! Our private Bombardiers and Rangers are available to warmly and safely transport you to and fro your ice fishing house. We move our houses throughout the season, daily if needed, to keep you on the fish. You will find our fish houses warm, holes pre-drilled and bait is provided!
